General cleaning tips for our Mascot Costumes

Our mascot costumes are extremely durable , to get the most from each performance, we suggest that after each wear, you check the costume for any signs of damage at the seams and throughout. For small stains including grass, and Lipstick ( you will be surprised how many costumes are almost kissed to death by adult ladies ! ) you can use a soft cloth dipped in a solution of one washing tablet to 2 pints of warm water and dab the area, the pile of these costumes are thick and it is easy to remove blemishes and stains.

The parts that take the most wear and tear are the feet and hands, these are seperate from the main body of the costume and can be machine washed at 30degrees. leave to air dry and then using a soft brush carefully brush the pile back and forth finishing with a continous brushing the way the pile lays. The feet parts actually cover the performers own shoes so there are no soles to them.

Bodies may be machine washed again at 30 degrees, remove any velcroed padding parts within the costume before doing so. Padding and integral tummy cushions can be washed together seperately on a 30degree wash.

The heads are well padded and are too large to place in a domestic washing machine,however they can be washed using a large drummed machine or it can simply be cleaned using a damp cloth, a removable head piece found inside the middle of the head can be removed and washed for hygiene purposes.

Costumes may also be dry cleaned, but please ask your local dry cleaner to verify that they are able to clean it beforehand.

Our "Performance" de-odouriser spray can be used as a finishing touch to ensure the costume stays fresh.

Storage

Our costumes arrive in a clear bag and a box for transport .

We recommend that you purchase a carry bag for transporting your mascot and for storage.

We supply ideal bags that will accomodate the mascots, these are dark blue with red piping and have zips for easy access, closure. The whole mascot will fit in these bags and they have a drawstring top. Please see our mascot extras for your purchase.

Personalised bags with your company logo or name, or mascot name are also available
